[의료기기/엔지니어] AI/ML Engineer Reinforcement Learning

A foreign medical device manufacturer is searching for an AI/ML Engineer. The selected applicant will design and implement advanced RL and IL algorithms to support safe and effective medical device applications.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement RL and IL algorithms for robotic catheter navigation, path planning, and intra-procedural control in complex vascular environments

Develop and optimise digital twin simulations of neurovascular structures and robotic systems using Isaac Sim, Omniverse, or equivalent tools

Integrate AI pipelines into NVIDIA edge platforms for low-latency, high-reliability robotic decision-making

Train agents using expert demonstrations (IL) and refine them with RL-based finetuning such as PPO, SAC, or DAgger

Collaborate with clinicians and robotics engineers to define task objectives, reward functions, and safety constraints

Develop data generation strategies for simulation and real-world experiments, including curriculum learning and domain adaptation for sim-to-real transfer

Validate algorithm performance in simulation and on hardware testbeds such as phantom models and preclinical setups

Collaborate with regulatory and product teams to ensure alignment with medical device standards and compliance

Requirements:

Ph.D. in computer science, robotics, machine learning, or a related field or MS with 3 years or a Bachelor’s with more than 5 years of relevant experience

Hands-on expertise in Reinforcement Learning (PPO, SAC, DDPG) and Imitation Learning (Behavior Cloning, DAgger)

Proficient in Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch required, TensorFlow is preferred)

Solid understanding of robotics control, dynamics, and motion planning

Experience with physics simulators (Isaac Sim, Isaac Gym, Mujoco, or equivalent)

Preferred requirements:

Experience with medical robotics (catheter-based or surgical navigation systems)

Experience in CAD-to-simulation workflows (converting SolidWorks models to USD/URDF)

Familiarity with robot articulation setup and physics tuning in Isaac Sim

Knowledge of safety-critical learning, sim-to-real transfer, and domain adaptation techniques

Experience with NVIDIA AI tools (CUDA, TensorRT, DeepStream) and edge AI optimisation

Exposure to medical device development and regulatory frameworks (FDA, CE)
