○ Job Title: Technology Services Specialist (Associate or Base)
○ Department: Information Technology
○ Supervisor’s Title : Manager, IT
○ Job Specific Responsibilities :
1. Technology Services
Incumbent must deploy and support all assigned technology products and services in a timely and
cost-effective manner and align technology infrastructure to support FedEx’s business goals
by carrying out the following:
- Compare technology products’ features, costs, services and reliability
- Identify technology infrastructure improvement opportunities
- Install, test, upgrade and maintain FedEx proprietary products, IT equipment, hardware, software,
databases, applications and networks for internal and external customers
- Train end-users after deployment of technology products on product usage and knowledge
- Develop and update user guides, technology support plans, network diagram, maintenance
manuals and tools
- Monitor and report failure frequency and resolutions to management
- Provide 24/7 on-call and re-call support to critical systems
- Troubleshoot technology problems with existing technology solution or via development of
new solution
- Devise and initiate preventive solutions in response to systems, components or equipment failure
- Conduct and lead regular alignment meetings with customers and vendors to collect feedback
- Provide technology advice related to IT products, features, design, methodology, standard and
security awareness to internal and external customers
2. Technology Project Management
Incumbent must ensure project implementation success by carrying out the following :
- Lead, plan, coordinate and/or implement country level projects
- Develop project plan and manage whole project life cycle including budget planning, monitoring,
reporting and implementation
- Arrange test environment to gather Proof-Of-Concept before full deployment of technology
products
- Promote new feature, service or technology product to end-users
- Conduct post-implementation review to identify, measure and report success in service
improvements
- Execute contingency plans when necessary
3. Vendor Management
Incumbent must ensure vendors meet FedEx’s expectations by carrying out the following :
- Update IT inventory, coordinate and track equipment order, delivery, installation, relocation and
disposal of equipment with scheduling and tracking systems
- Process vendors’ billings and invoices
- Monitor, review and evaluate vendors’ performance according to defined criteria
- Recommend a list of viable vendors
- Negotiate and manage contracts made with vendors to achieve cost effectiveness and service
level enhancement
○ Minimum Requirements
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field
- Job Experience : One year experience for Associate, two years for Specialist and three years for
Senior, in installing, maintaining and diagnosing failures in information technology, voice and
data communications or IT systems.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
- Knowledge of software and/or hardware requirements, voice and data communications
technologies, major operating systems (including Unix, Linux, MS Windows), network technologies
(including WAN, LAN, WLAN), applications software support, information security technologies,
and telephony system (including IPT, PBX)
- Project management knowledge and skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English and one other Asian language
- Able to work in teams and maintain sharing and supportive attitude
- Able to make decisions, solve problems and negotiate with others using active listening,
critical thinking, and persuasion skills |
