The position of Business Head – Cardiometabolic is within our Cardiometabolic,
Emerging Asia business unit located in Korea.
Work in a fast paced and dynamic environment to help lead the growth of Point of
Care (POC) diagnostics. This role is part of the Abbott Rapid Diagnostics business in
Asia Pacific (APAC), focused on Cardiometabolics and Diabetes disease management.

RESPONSIBILITIES |
|
|
|
|
This position is the Business Head and Business Manager for Cardiometabolic, Korea
The fundamental mandate of this position is the following :
- Deliver on the sales objectives for the Cardiometabolic business unit in Korea and drive market share growth.
- Manage a team of Sales Executives in Korea and collaborate with full-service distributors.
- Collaborate with marketing and service/field support technical teams as needed to deliver customer satisfaction, loyalty, and
long-term business partnerships to grow the business.
- Lead and manage a team of Sales Executives responsible for acquiring new instrument placements, contract renewals, and
increase utilization of the installed products.
- Ensure sales goals are achieved without compromising on Division/Area/Market profitability
- Identify areas of opportunity for gaining new accounts and increasing existing accounts from competition culminating in the creation/
execution of customer acquisition plans.
- Manage relationships with distributors and executing to a high degree of performance in achieving their business objectives.
- Work with team / direct reports to appropriately resource support staff
- Review progress on key milestones in account plans for all accounts
- Coach team / direct reports on strategic and tactical areas (e.g. leading internal teams)
- Participate in hospital tenders, undertake negotiations as necessary and generate sales and increase market share,
whilst maximizing profitability.
- Financial responsibility and management of targeted key accounts
- Establish account assignments and quotas which fairly allocate revenue potential
- Ensure accurate and up to date status of the customer installed base list for focused products.
- Support with talent acquisition, coaching, mentoring and establishing training programs to meet teams /
direct reports requirements in different markets
- Comply with Abbott Corporate Code of Conduct, Policies and Procedures. Ensure all commercial activities are conducted professionally,
aligned with local regulatory and industry guidelines and are conducted in a manner consistent with Abbott Corporate Code of Conduct.
- Build strategic customer relationships with Key Opinion Leaders
- Simplify complex issues with business partners and colleagues, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability and understanding of customers’
evidence-based needs to provide sales/product solutions. |

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS |
|
|
|
|
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Medical Technology, Medicine or related discipline in life sciences OR Business Administration Degree
- Prior selling experience in cardiometabolic, molecular, medical, pharma, or diagnostics industry would be beneficial in addition to core
sales and leadership capabilities |

|
|
|
|
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS |
|
|
|
|
- Mastery level experience managing hospital accounts and/or B2B businesses in healthcare
- Experience in several of the Emerging Asia countries and region healthcare / diagnostics industry with experience in Cardiometabolic /
Diabetes care being a plus.
- Experience working with senior level executives and hospital /business CXOs.
- Proficiency in working with distributors
- Ability to influence team member activities (with or without direct reporting relationship)
- Comprehensive management of strategic accounts
- Strong understanding of key stakeholders and customer dynamics
- Track record of effectively recruiting, coaching and mentoring top selling talent
- Negotiation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Fluent in English and Korean language (Spoken and written). |
