Mechatronic Technical Expert

·    commissioning of engines at tests beds and on ships

·    ​testing of new products and systems followed by a structured reporting to R&D

·    ​assessment of products and system in operation with the goal of their improvements and optimization

·    ​familiarization and training for our partners, verification of engine documentation in regards to engine performance aspects

·    ​direct and remote technical support for troubleshooting on engine’s in service

·    ​understanding and merging requirements of engine automation (i.e. engine control system) into thermodynamics and marine engineering

·    ​knowledge of internal combustion reciprocating engines, preferably low speed 2-stroke marine engines

·    ​knowledge of ship's engine room systems and automation and control systems

·    ​self-motivated with ability to work in an international and multicultural team

·    ​systematic, analytic and technical mind, experienced in practical problem solving

·    ​willing to travel and to work on-board Vessels

Education: Higher education degree (BsC Mech, and/or Elect. Engineering) with sound experience as a Service Engineer or Commissioning Engineer.

​Experience: Able to work self-driven and self-critical with the target of continuous improvement. Preferably experience on vessels in service, main engine operation and maintenance & auxiliary equipment.

​Desired Skills: ​

Automation and control system knowledge: feeling for electric, hydraulic and pneumatic Electric and Electronics knowledge.​

​2-Stroke Diesel Engine Knowledge: feeling for performance, thermodynamics, vibrations, vibrations, materials and structures.

​IT: PC user software handling and PC setup skills are necessary next to the RCS and electronics.

​Language skills: English at a fluent negotiation level is necessary, other languages of advantage.
