Job Description

5.1

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

·      Leads the product development activities of customer projects and engineering changes, supports product cost reduction activities, plans and controls performance, timing and costs

·      Leads the concept creation for new business acquisitions, looks after the appropriate concept to exceed customer expectations and Kiekert strategy and commercial interest

·      Leads the product development activities in the serial phase, supports quality and cost improvement activities as well as customer engineering changes

·      Develops and leads a team of lead engineers, design engineers and draftsmen disciplinary

·      Supervises the coordination of all product development activities (Design, prototyping, testing, simulation, launch) through the lead engineers

·      Strives for the best in class design in terms of customer requirements, costs and performance

·      Understands the customer strategy and supports the product strategy at the OEM in charge

·      Oversees the market and the competition and derives necessary actions to put or keep Kiekert in a favorable competitive situation

·      Achieves and maintains an excellent relationship of trust and commitment with the representatives of the OEM in charge

·      Leads technical negotiations and supports commercial negotiations at the customer

·      Plans resources, product development costs, cost center costs and capex

·      Represents product development activities internally, at the customers and at other third party partners

·      Supervises the compliance with Kiekert and customer processes, technical and quality standards, as well as legal regulations

·      Complys with the Kiekert’s and the customer’s quality policy and quality management system

·      Kiekert delegates the necessary duties to prevent health risks, occupational injury, environmental and safety risks to the incumbent in his/her area of responsibility

Skills & Abilities

·      Excellent leadership ability, moderator skills, must be able to set and manage priorities

·      Engineering background and technical ability

·      Several years of professional experience in product developemnet management or project management with a proven track record in this field

·      In-depth automotive business knowledge

·      Excellent communication and proesentation skills

·      Convincing in front of the customer and business partners

·      Fluent in English, customer language is preferred in addition

·      National and international willingness to travel Leadership ability, moderator skills, must be able to set and manage priorities
