The Network Manager is responsible for all tasks related to the installation, maintenance and management of the
School computer network to meet the needs of curricula and administrative tasks.
Specific Tasks:
- Manage the school IT Technicians including training and appraisal procedures.
- Set up, manage and maintain school operational and educational systems.
- Manage student and staff email accounts.
- Set up and manage the school network infrastructure, servers and workstations.
- Maintain and manage the school’s servers including but not limited to the Engage MIS Database and
web portal servers.
- Provide advice on networking, purchasing and any relevant contractors to the Director of IT and
relevant Senior Team members.
- Provide new network and server solutions to meet local and international needs including data
protection and security.
- Support the Director of IT in the development, implementation and monitoring of school practices for data
protection, internet use, e-mail, security and ICT resource management, ensuring that the School is compliant with
all relevant legislation
- Ensure that the network is operational during access hours and appropriate back-up protocols are implemented.
- Responsible for managing a regular ICT maintenance programme and resolving failures in hardware and software.
- Responsible for the development, implementation and regular testing of a comprehensive and reliable business
continuity and disaster recovery plan
- Manage an online help desk to track and monitor problem resolution, asset management, service compliance
- Manage and take responsibility for the School’s Internet provision and access, ensuring a safe and secure learning
experience which is protected and managed by any necessary firewall and filtering provision to minimize the risk of
exposure to unsuitable materials on the World Wide Web in line with the Korean Law and School’s Safeguarding
Policies.
- Support the Director of IT to develop budget submissions to support the ongoing maintenance and
development of school systems
Hardware Systems:
Responsibility for oversight of all school hardware and infrastructure including, but not limited to:
- Maintaining a school wide ICT hardware audit
- Maintenance and configuration of servers, storage network and virtualization
- Maintenance and configuration of iMac and iPad for use in classrooms
- Maintenance and configuration of laptops for staff use as well as supporting documentation for
allocation and return
- Maintenance and configuration of network printers, setup devices on print server.
- Maintenance and configuration of network devices including access points, wireless controller,
backbone and firewall
- Maintenance and configuration of projectors, sound and video mixers
- Updating and managing the Telephone System
- Ensure a documentation system is implemented to track network monitoring, maintenance and change
- Develop and monitor routine work instructions for the IT support team for daily, weekly, monthly,
bi-annual and annual tasks.
Software and Services Management and Maintenance
Responsibility for oversight of all school software and services including, but not limited to:
- Maintenance of the Engage MIS system including monthly upgrades
- Management and configuration of network devices
- Management and configuration of servers software, including Windows Server, Apple Server,
- Management and configuration of workstation operating systems, including OS X, MacOS, Windows
- Management and configuration of productivity software, including Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, G Suite,
- Manage, communicate and maintain print queues, quotas and policies
- Software deployment and management using Zulu MDM, Apple Remote Desktop |
