Essential Duties

• Support the design faculty across Village School, Middle School, and Upper School  in the day‐to‐day running and management of the spaces/resources, provide first‐line technical support and maintenance to ensure optimal operation of the spaces & mobile resources.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Project Support:

• Utilise knowledge and experience in design & fabrication methods and materials to help Students/faculty create iterative prototypes

FabLab admin & infrastructure support

• Support Technology Making & Design (TMD) faculty in the day‐to‐day running and management of the program, providing: purchasing, first‐line technical support, and maintenance for on‐site to ensure optimal operation of the TMD resources and spaces; assisting with the installation, maintenance and operations of applications and equipment & processes.

Events & workshops

• Take part in development activities for new workshops and events; ordering or producing materials, supporting delegates in the use of resources and equipment

User support

• Provide support and guidance to CI faculty & students on the full range of TMD tools.

Housekeeping

• Carry out day‐to‐day maintenance and organization duties with TMD resources & spaces to maintain a tidy, clean and safe working environment and prolong the useful life of TMD equipment and materials

Teaching / Substitute

• Can provide mini-lessons on TMD related resources and if holding a teacher credential can cover classes in the event of an absent TMD faculty member.

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements

Minimum

• Tinkerer mindset: You like to know how things work, and learn new things

• Collaboration skills: can work constructively with kids and adults

• Fluent in Korean and functional level of English

• Strong organizational skills especially in a material rich creative space

• Uncompromising commitment to safety and a maintaining a healthy working environment

• Strong technology skills with Win/Mac/iPad

Preferred

• Active and practicing artist, with experience working in craft focused communities

• Outstanding organizational skills with a focus on maintaining order and speedy workflows in a high volume creative learning space

• Experience working directly with all members of a Prek-12 school community.

• Direct teaching experience of students and adults.

• Knowledge and expertise across a broad range of creative tools, materials, crafts, digital fabrication, and physical computing (arduino)

• Fluent in Korean and English

• Extensive purchasing experience with Korean vendors.

• Excellent oral communication skills

• Accomplished Tinkerer: Have a portfolio of creative project you have worked on

• Ability to support across a broad range of ages and adjusts the level of content to suit audiences with varying levels of understanding and ability
