Facility Operation Coordinator

Job Description

The Facilities Operation Coordinator is to work under the direction of Manager of Strategic Initiatives & Logistics, in maintaining the overall operation of the facilities and inventory asset needed for teaching, living, and supporting campus activities in George Mason University Korea (Mason Korea). The primary responsibility for this position is the facilities operation including all maintenance, repairs, set-up, meeting certification, national and local regulation standards, and any other necessary functions relating to facilities. This position shall provide excellent service to all internal and external partners including staff, faculty, and students.

More specifically, the duties of Facilities Operation Coordinator will:

- Identify, support, and resolve problems associated with facilities and housing for faculty, staff, and students.

- Assist Manager to order, set up, and maintain classrooms, offices, general spaces, and furniture.

- Assist Manager to handle requests from faculty and staff pertaining to classrooms, offices, and furniture.

- Work with other units in Mason Korea to support logistical needs with respect to classes and events set up.

- Maintain all facilities in good condition.

- Work with faculty and staff to assist office and housing set-up, maintenance, and problem solving.

- Work with IGC Foundation to implement inventory inspection every semester and ensure that everything is in good condition. 

- Manage inventory list of Mason Korea assets including both in academic buildings and faculty housing, and carry out regular inventory check up.

- Conduct research, prepare reports and handle information requests from supervisor.

- Maintain and store documents pertaining to facilities operation. 

- Manage the cleaning staff and maintain good condition of building with cleaning staff.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualification

- A bachelor’s degree in related fields is required.

- Should demonstrate knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within areas of specialty.

- Should be fluent in both Korean and English in oral and written communications.

- Strong customer service and organizational skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite especially Word and Excel.

- Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior. Highly motivated and detail oriented.

 Preferred Qualification 

- More than 3 year of experience in the field or in a related area is preferred.

- Experience in facility/building management or knowledge of construction/civil engineering is preferred.

- Excellent documentation skill and knowledge of inventory management is highly preferred.

Upon successful completion of the 1- year contract, this position will be considered for a full time position at George Mason University Korea.
