Ops Backup, Runner, Man on the ground and Startup Peer

Accelerate Korea is a private business startup consultancy, accelerator and events operator with offices in Korea and headquarters in the Netherlands, Europe. It is our goal to act as a catalyst to support the healthy and rapidly developing business startup ecosystem. We aim to help existing startups to mature and grow while also making it friendly and easy to access for anyone interested in learning more about becoming a startup. Our key sectors are O2O, IoT, enterprise & consumer, mobile, Internet, hightech / hardware, fintech, meditech and others.


We serve and partner with all private and public sectors, including commercial business startups, government agencies & other public organisations, private agencies, multinationals, SMEs and various field experts globally.


Another key part of what we strive to do is to develop a powerful international support network and provide an opportunity for startups to join global incubators and accelerators that happen through our network or are built by us.


YOU’LL BE IN CHARGE OF:  

Representation, Network & Community:

  • Identifying and coordinating relevant events, assisting bookings, travel and other coordination needs related to incubator and accelerator activities.

  • Coordinate meetings with various internal and external stakeholders

  • Research for relevant network players, HR, events, etc…

  • Monitor the ecosystem for up and coming players to be involved in the accelerator

  • Back up for manager on relevant events & meetups

  • Being the contact person for media requests. Coordination of media requests

  • Take care of social media

  • Back up for general manager to take care of visitors

Programming

  • Collect feedback from participants

  • Poll availability of mentors and coaches

  • Take part in all program activities to ensure efficiency and quality.

Operations

  • Be able to think for yourself and take the right suitable actions without direction

  • Documentation of the whole accelerator program (photo’s, videos, performance reports, etc.)

  • Book resources & equipment

  • Coordinate catering

  • Setup space and equipment and be a runner for all accelerator activities

  • Be available during office hours for all kinds of questions and needs of the accelerator participants

  • Assist participants with operational aspects.

  • Translate between English and Korean if needed

  • Commodity services to participants (sim cards, help with official stuff, etc…)

  • Creation of accounting reports and other documents needed for reporting

  • Write reports and coordinate with Zoho project management software

  • Coordinate cross border resources with other program managers, coordinators and assistants

  • Be available via phone 24/7 in case of emergency

  • Be operational backup for the general manager

  • Be a peer/friend to startups

  • Take care of mentors, coaches and investors needs when visiting. Get coffee / drinks, take them in, take them out. Prepare the room, document the outcome.

  • Other duties and assignments as necessary.


WE’RE LOOKING FOR YOU!

We are looking for junior candidates with a talent for operations and groundwork and ideally an entrepreneurial background.

  • Bachelor degree in business or related field

  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in management consulting, finance, project management, large scale events management, line producer / assistant director or with similar skill set

  • Stick to deadlines and always follow through

  • Knowledge of network startup ecosystem

  • Entrepreneurial mind-set

  • Problem solving skills and hands-on approach

  • Ability to work collaboratively and build trust

  • Be honest, loyal and trustworthy

  • Enjoy networking, meeting new people and building strong professional relationships

  • Highly self motivated, able to be flexible with work tasks and can learn how to do something and achieve a goal
